Welcome!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC-Supervisor in Texas and Virginia with experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families from various walks of life. I have worked with clients in outpatient treatment, partial outpatient treatment, in-patient residential treatment, and in-patient acute psychiatric settings. I worked with at-risk youth looking to make a new life for themselves, parolees and probationers looking to make a turn for the better, and patients suffering from psychosis who need clarity in their lives.

I am formally trained in working with couples, individuals, and families as a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio, Texas. I use various techniques in my practice to help build trust and rapport with my clients. Such techniques include, but are not limited to, art and play, cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused theory.

My role as a counselor is to be an empathetic listener and build trust and rapport through our relationship, providing a safe environment for the transmission of intimately private information to be disclosed and begin the process of healing. I believe the client has the answers within them; all they have to do is be still and listen for these answers. As an unbiased listener, I hope to help the client find these answers and, in so doing, discover clarity and hope.

I am an approved LPC-Supervisor in Texas and Virginia, with nearly nine years of experience working with counseling Associates (Texas), Residents (Virginia), and Counselors-In-Training to help them grow their skills and understanding of what it means to be a Licensed Professional Counselor.

In January 2016, I began work on my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision through Liberty University Online in Lynchburg, Virginia. I am currently in the dissertation phase of my program and plan to graduate in May 2023. My goal in obtaining the Ph.D. is to teach at the university level while gaining further knowledge and tools to help clients and supervisees in my private practice. Attending the Ph.D. program at Liberty University is an incredible opportunity, and I am excited about what the future holds.
